By coordinating meal deliveries and baking, we help ease the burden during challenging seasons. Supporting Local and Global Causes
Good News Thailand
-
In 1978 New Zealand World Outreach missionaries Lorraine Dierck and Valerie Bateup started the Good News Team. Today, seven Thai Christians continue that work. The emphasis has always been to bring a clear Gospel message to children and their families, carrying out the Great Commission of Matt 28:16-20.
-
Create and distribute booklets tailored to children which tell the gospel story.
Visit state schools where they are able to present the Gospel to the whole school.
Send packets of these booklets to school libraries throughout Thailand.
Up to 10% of children who receive a booklet then write for more information about Jesus.
On average five to ten children, and their families, will read each booklet. In many homes they are a treasured possession.
Love Cambodia
-
In 2001, Mark and Janice Somerville were sent out from Salt Church to love and minister to the people of Cambodia. From 1976-1978, Cambodia experienced mass genocide – the loss of up to 3 million lives, countless fled the country and many who remained were displaced. The nation was devastated, and the effects of the genocide remain to this day. In 2024, after dedicating a third of their lives to serving in Cambodia, Mark and Janice plan to pass the baton on to Dave and Heidi Fraser who will continue the great work they have pioneered. Love Cambodia continues to serve the region of Kampong Cham alongside local leaders.

BPO was founded by Teriria Stephenson with the support of her family. Teriria’s experience as a child being rescued by the Women’s Refuge left a lasting impact on her life. Being moved by similar charities, she decided this was one way to give back and impact the lives of others for the better. From filling backpacks in her home the outreach has grown into what it is now. The backpacks are targeted to displaced, vulnerable and at risk children and families living in the Manawatu region.
-
We make packages of care for at risk children to make them feel loved, to feel a sense of pride and belonging with practical items that encourage a creative outlet, good hygiene and self care. Our goal is to support as many children and organisations as we can in the Manawatu.
